I miss you man...I wish you could have met Zoe, she is so full of life and a goofball as you used to call me. I talk to her about you all the time...as her Godfather you would be proud of her. Then Samantha my gosh she is all attitude and I could see how you would straighten her up but still laugh at her because she acts like me.I saw the pic of you and me that Chris put up and that brought back a lot of memories. Like the damn bird in the background. You used to just want to kill the bird for making all kinds of noise. To see you get beat red over a bird...lol...oh how I miss seeing you get pissed off and curse at everything. I saw your parents a few months back...I miss them so much. I saw Chris and his lovely wife, she is a cutie pie. Dad and Mama look awesome and we just sat for hours talking about you, the girls, the family and the stories on how you have touched so many people. I was not at all surprised, you have left a legacy and an impression in all our hearts. There has never been a friend like you who will ever take your place...you are my bud for life. I love you.

Well we made thru anotherThanksgiving again with out you. Brings it all back all over again. Grand dad passed away on the 8th. Never complained once, smiling and politeness to the end. I hope he isn't being to hard on you now. Who ever would have thought that it would be Chris and me left now.
Tyler and Gen were up for the service. Just like looking at you at six all over again. Wide open and always moving, a smile and a kiss for all, then look out he is coming through. We played some football in the yard, but he made me sit as it seems I don't know enough of the rules of the game to play with him. But he has promised to show me.
We found a film of one of the SOI graduations. What is amazing when we watch it is how you carry yourself, the crispness of your uniform and how you have a word for all your students. We could see you walking up behind them and the big hand on their shoulder followed by them smiling and nods as you said what they needed to hear. How many of them will always remember you, how many lives you touched. How many Marines still call, still watch over us. How I wish I could take your place.

So tomorrow is your 31st birthday. I always loved being able to say that you were old, because no matter what, you were always older then me. But now, you will always be the young one.
31. How many memories just that number brings up from all your years of football. When you would come home from leave and watch those old home movies over and over. You had every play from every game memorized.
Even now, with my own daughter, I watch Spongebob and think of you. Sitting on the couch singing along with the theme song. "Whooooooo" I can see your smile, hear your laugh. Did you know how special you were?
So tomorrow I am making you a cake. And eating mac and cheese. And missing you, like I have everyday since you left. I love you Sean. So so much.

The head of my family was a man of the depression. He understood and lived in poverty, quit school and helped support his brothers and sisters. He served in the Navy Seabees in WWII. Not a a warrior with a rifle and knife, but as a stevadore, loading and unloading ships on landing beaches to keep the man fighting supplied. No complaints, just a man doing a job. I was taught to pull my weight and then some, don't complain and get it done, if you don't some one else will. Take care of your family and they will take care of you. Be man enough to admit when you are wrong and look clearly at what is going on around you. I raised my son's and daughter the same way, do your job the best you can and be man enough to stand up and take the heat when things don't go right. I want everyone to know that my son and his Marines got the job done, didn't complain about it, didn't call in sick, stood up and got it done. Anbar is now in Iraq civilian control. Regardless of how people of the press and others feel there is nothing like results to prove your point and Anbar is free. Those that refuse to see that just aren't man enough to stand up and say "you were right". May God bless all those who serve, these men and women got it done without the support of the 'love the troops, hate Bush's oil war' crowd. It's like argueing about a car accident, won't fix the bent metal or hurt bodies. Fix the car, go to the Doctor and remember to be more observant when you drive. You did it son, you kept the steps going that took Iraq to the place it is now, I am so proud of you.

Thinking of you on this Memorial Day, Sean. Remembering the outstanding son, father, husband and U.S. Marine that you were. We miss you more with each passing day. Tyler is growing to be a fine little man. He reminds us of you and eases the pain a bit.
Rest in peace, son. We love you. Mutti
